Text Edit Plus is a lightweight text editor and analyzer, perfect for simple note-taking and more. Its unique feature is its ability to quickly display document statistics, count characters and words. It allows you to understand what's going on inside the text. I'm sure this editor will appeal to those who frequently work with TXT, CSV, HTML, and other formats. You can open an existing document or create a new one from scratch. The interface is simple and uncluttered, so even a novice like me can figure it out quickly.

There's also a text comparison feature, where you take two different fragments and see how similar they are. It's a great feature if you need to find duplicate paragraphs, check two versions of a document, or identify where text was copied almost unchanged.
The database also includes string tools. You can shuffle strings, trim excess text, work with lists, and insert fields with dates, numbers, or text.
Crypto is a completely separate and interesting feature. It scrambles the source text so that without a password, it turns into an incomprehensible string of characters. I certainly wouldn't use this as serious protection for important documents.
