"Gold" is the first official greatest hits compilation by the American rock band Jefferson Starship, released on Grunt Records. Although work on the compilation was completed in late 1978, the album was officially released on January 22, 1979. The album concluded the "golden era" of the band's classic 1970s lineup, marking the temporary departure of vocalists Marty Balin and Grace Slick.
