Antiques Road Trip S33 E01-E05 (1080p, soft English subtitles)
Antiques experts set off on a road trip around the UK searching for treasures and competing to make the most money at auction.
E01 A Dazzling Future Ahead
Road Trip favourites Natasha Raskin Sharp and David Harper hit the road together for the first time, setting off across Scotland’s central belt in serious style behind the wheel of a beastly 1975 Ford Bronco. When they hit the shops, David is in his element, drawn to finds from East Asia, full of flavour, and a large bit of treen with an equine theme. Meanwhile, Tash spots a set of sparkles with a significant name - pure 1950s glamour. She is sure the auction room will be dazzled. She also picks up some stylish Victorian eyewear, which David is more than happy to try on and make a spectacle of himself.
Then it’s off to Edinburgh, where the pair pause the antiques hunt to come face to face with the future. But one awkward conversation stirs up a chapter of David’s road trip past that he would rather leave parked. As auction day approaches, will David’s Chinese charmers get the bidders’ pulses racing? Or will Tash’s dazzling discovery shine its way to a healthy profit?
E02 Saddle Sore over a Big Book
We’re bouncing through Dumfries and Galloway for the second leg of Natasha Raskin Sharp and David Harper’s transnational treasure hunt. Their antiques adventure is rolling on in style aboard their trusty 1975 Ford Bronco. Scouring Scotland’s antiques emporia, David gets to grips with a quirky curiosity which has a hidden secret, and a tiny tome that he prays will bring in big bucks at the auction. Tash is tempted by a classic bit of blue and white, and a boozy book that takes a hefty bite out of her budget. It’s a bold move, and she is not entirely sure it will pay off. Taking a breather from the buying, the pair pedal back in time to discover an inventive local whose influence has wheeled its way around the world. But when their detour shifts up a gear, Tash and David are left saddle-sore. As auction day arrives, will David’s number of novelties pique the bidders’ interest? And can Tash’s big-ticket tome turn a full measure of profit, or will it leave her drowning her sorrows?
E03 An Illuminating Excursion
We’re midway through the antiques battle between top-tier auctioneer Natasha Raskin Sharp and dapper dealer David Harper. They’re racing around Tyneside in their big beast, a 1975 Ford Bronco, which is still a little tricky to tame. With the competition heating up, our two are still on the hunt for tempting treasures to bowl over bidders at auction.
In the shops, David tests his profit-hunting instincts with an old pub game, which claimed to reveal if you were safe to drive. Tash reels in some silver-plated fishy flatware and unearths the perfect piece of furniture for a Georgian bookworm. But it’s not all antiques and collectibles. The pair take a detour into Newcastle to discover an unsung local hero whose illuminating invention lit up the entire world and beat his more famous American counterpart to the punch. Then it’s off to auction, where David and Tash hope their treasures will light up the sale room. But what will be the catch of the day and who will be left floundering?
E04 Keen as Mustard
It’s round 4 in the antiques face-off between auctioneer Natasha Raskin Sharp and dealer David Harper, motoring through County Durham and North Yorkshire in their bucking 1975 Ford Bronco. With the competition heating up, the pair are on the hunt for treasures that could turn heads at auction. David hopes to pour out a profit with a fancy Asian vessel, and another from closer to home that keeps things hot. Meanwhile, Tash finds a French fancy from the Paris exposition and some historic football match memorabilia, still in mint condition in the box. Could that hit the back of the net with the bidders in the sale room? Taking a break from the buying, Tash and David dive into Durham's culinary history, discovering an enterprising 17th-century woman who created a hot store-cupboard staple that’s still popular to this day. Our pair try their hand at making this famous fiery condiment, but is it too hot for Tash to handle? With their finds loaded and auction day looming, who will be raising the trophy, and who’ll be drowning their sorrows?
E05 Bizarre Buys and Military Motors
It’s the final run-out for experts Natasha Raskin Sharp and David Harper, and they're Yorkshire-bound in their bucking Bronco for one last blitz around the boutiques.
Tash has a hankering for the eccentric, a cute but quirky coconut catches her eye, and could an unusual clock take flight at auction? Meanwhile, David charts a course towards some boating bounty, hoping it will steer him to auction success, and picks up a bit of philatelic history that could be first class. Taking a break from the shops, our pair step back in time, discovering the work that goes into keeping a collection of World War II military motors ticking over
